FLAGSHIP STORE OPENING

The Columbus Circle Flagship opening event was held from 7-9pm for approximately 300 people in collaboration with Art Production Fund in support of the Central Park Conservancy.

•NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced the installation with a video address

•The celebration of the new store included an extraordinary video installation created by video artist Marco Brambilla, entitled “Anthropocene”.

•Anthropocene presents a rich visual portrait of the core geography within and between Central Park and Columbus Circle. Traversing through the urban energy of the city to the serene natural qualities of the park, this portrait synchronously builds in intensity and pace, at times serenely minimal and at others pulsing with energetic imagery.

•The piece was commissioned by HUGO BOSS to commemorate the evening. Viewers enjoyed being the first to experience the art installation projected in the glass atrium of the Time Warner Center on 3 30x40 foot screens, which were viewable from inside and outside. The soundtrack that accompanied “Anthropocene” was a classical work by composer Camille Saint-Saens from the suite “Carnival of the Animals”, which was performed live by The Julliard School in the atrium of the Time Warner Center during the opening night event.

•“Anthropocene” could be viewed publically each night from 7-10pm from September 24-30th. Additionally, 10% of sales during this time benefited the Central Park Conservancy.
